owner of the lost item may also have posted a cash reward so contact Codetag

Tag

The Codetag® retrieval system is a registration based service that
costs less than 1 cent per day and is FREE when Codetags are purchased.
Maintaining your registration is easy. Simply purchase and register a
Codetag for
your keys, watch, cell-phone, laptop or other personal item,
and
your registration will be automatically renewed for 3 years. You may also
extend your registration period here.
No problem. Your items are still registered in our system. There
is
however an
$18
transaction
fee
to
organize retrieval of your lost items.
(NB. This fee is waived for customers with current registrations.)
YES! Even in the unlikely
event a Codetagged Item is stolen. When customers register items we ask they include a description of
the item and a serial number. Even if the codetag is removed we can assist Law enforcement agencies
by tracking the owner via the items serial number.
Codetag's labels and tags are the keys to this revolutionary loss
and recovery system! We supply you with serialized labels that can
be attached to almost anything!
Once you have a Codetag on your valuable property, (whether it is
a laptop PC, a piece of sporting equipment, or a wristwatch), you simply
register
the tag on line, or by mail, fax or phone. If you happen to lose the
item, the finder, lost property department or law enforcement agency
contacts
us, and we arrange to have the lost item returned to you, securely
and confidentially.
All codetag products have a lifetime warranty! If any of
your labels or tags get damaged, we will replace them free of charge,
including shipping!
Information security is of critical importance to our business. We
work to protect the security of your information during transmission
by using
128 bit Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.
Please also note, when making purchases via this web site, we DO NOT
maintain your credit card number on any file.

Simply attach the label to your possession and the register it here.
If you lose an item with a Codetag label attached to it, the finder,
a lost property department or law enforcement agency will
read the instructions on the tag. With a reward offered for the return
of
your property, they will contact us at Codetag and we will organize for
the lost item to be retrieved from the finder and returned to you!
You could do that, but indelible marker pens are messy, and displaying
your
personal home or business contact information to the world isn't particularly
secure, (especially on key rings!),
nor does it encourage the finder to contact you to organize
retrieval.
